Introducing Morris Finance
For nearly three decades, Morris has built a strong reputation as a trusted Australian commercial asset finance provider.
The business supports a national network of approximately 2,500 brokers. It helps business owners access finance, including those who may not meet the lending criteria of major banks.
As Morris expanded nationally, its technology environment needed to evolve with the business and support continued growth.
The Situation
When Damien Haugh joined Morris as its technology lead, the business was established, but its technology had not kept pace. This was a key reason for his appointment, and a strategy was established to improve.
Processes were mostly manual, the infrastructure needed improvement, and the existing managed service provider was too reactive.
Initially, as the sole dedicated technology person within Morris, Damien needed a partner that could improve reliability, strengthen cyber security and support transformation while allowing him to retain visibility and control.
Morris was also preparing to replace a legacy DOS-based platform, open new locations and create a more scalable foundation.
Building a Secure IT Foundation
Rodin uplifted and stabilised Morris Finance’s firewalls, switches and servers, creating a stronger foundation for growth.
Managed Detection and Response (MDR) provides 24×7 security monitoring and threat detection, giving Morris Finance strong protection and helping identify and contain potential threats before they escalate. It also provides greater visibility across the environment and a clearer understanding of the business’s security position.
Rodin has also supported cyber awareness training, phishing simulations and further security improvements as part of an ongoing maturity journey.

When Morris recently opened a new Queensland office, Damien handed Rodin four bullet points, and Rodin got to work – scoping, ordering and delivering the infrastructure installation within weeks.

With a stronger and more secure foundation in place, Morris migrated from its legacy DOS-based platform to a modern Microsoft Azure environment.
Rodin built the supporting infrastructure ahead of schedule. A subsequent internal network penetration test returned no high or major findings, giving Morris confidence to move forward.
