Catering for Success: How RODIN Delivered Strategic Solutions for QCC’s Expansion
Established in 1957, QCC marks its 66th year in 2024 as a leading force providing non-food services to the hospitality industry. QCC supports hotels, restaurants, caterers, clubs, pubs, and stadiums with an exhaustive range of products, from kitchen essentials to front-of-house supplies like cutlery, crockery, and glassware. Their one-stop-shop model has propelled their growth, with four physical locations across New South Wales and Queensland while servicing clients nationwide. Their blue-chip customer base and team of 110 dedicated staff underscores their successful business model.
QCC’s journey of expansion and growth generated a unique set of challenges, particularly with IT infrastructure and management. They recognised the need for larger, more sophisticated facilities, including a significant relocation project in Queensland resulting in a move to a materially larger greenfield. This big move included specific IT requirements across data, communication systems, Wi-Fi and internet connectivity. QCC also required the project to be completed with minimal downtime, as they could not afford to lose operational continuity in an industry that demands seamless service.
QCC chose RODIN as their managed IT service provider. Our methodology focused on understanding QCC’s specific needs and offering customised solutions rather than generic fixes. We took a proactive and strategic approach to IT management that addressed QCC’s concerns over maintaining business continuity and operational efficiency. Our project management capabilities became particularly relevant during the major relocation project, where we orchestrated a seamless transition to the new facility that minimised disruption.
RODIN and QCC’s partnership yielded remarkable outcomes with the key achievements including:
This partnership fostered a cultural and operational shift within QCC, enabling them to embrace technological advancements confidently. RODIN’s role extended beyond mere IT support; we provided essential training and guidance, empowering QCC’s staff to utilise the new systems and processes efficiently.
