How To Update Windows 10 to the Anniversary Update

Using the procedure below you will be able to install the Windows 10 Anniversary Update on your Windows 10 device.

This update brings some great new features to Windows 10 which you can read about here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/features.

Please note, this update will take approximately 45-60 minutes to install at which time you will NOT be able to use your computer. We suggest starting this update at the end of your day before going home to avoid being unable to use your machine.

1. Click the Windows icon in the bottom left hand corner of your machine (Start button) and type “Check for updates.”

2. Click the “Check for updates” button to force your machine to check for updates. This will take a minute or two while the machine searches for the Anniversary Update.

3. Once the update has been found, you should see a screen similar to the image below. Click the “Restart now” button to start the update.

Once you have clicked this button, the update will begin. Your machine will reboot multiple times while the update is being installed.

Please DO NOT turn off the computer during the update as you may render your machine unusable.

The update is complete once you are presented with the login screen. Log in as usual and take advantage of the new features available to you!
