How to update browser to the latest version

Keeping internet browser updated is important for security and ensures that web pages load properly and you have all the newest features.

Normally updates happen in the background when you close and reopen your computer’s browser. If you haven’t closed your browser in a while, you might need to update it manually.

Update Google Chrome

Follow these steps to manually update Google Chrome:

  1. Open Chrome then click More (three vertical dots on the upper right).

  2. Hover over your mouse to Help then click About Google Chrome.


  3. Google Chrome with automatically check for updates. If there’s a new version, it will download and install the update.

  4. Click Relaunch to finish the process.

Update Microsoft Edge

Follow these steps to manually update Microsoft Edge:

  1. Open Microsoft Edge then click Settings and more (three horizontal dots on the upper right).

  2. Hover over your mouse to Help and feedback then click About Microsoft Edge.


  3. Microsoft Edge will automatically check for updates. If it finds that there is a newer version, it will download and install the update.

  4. Once the update is downloaded, click Restart to finish the process.
