Change/reset your Microsoft 365 for Business password

You may want to reset your password for security reasons, or you may have forgotten it. In this article, we will provide you steps to change or reset your password.

How to change your password

To simply change your password, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Microsoft 365 with your work or school account.

  2. Click Settings then Change your password.



  3. Type your old password and new password, then confirm.



  4. Click Submit to save your new password.

How to reset your password

If you have forgotten your password and would like to reset it, follow these steps:

  1. Go to office.com and click Can’t access your account.

  2. Click Work or school account.

  3. Type your email address and enter the characters in the picture or the words in the audio then click Next.

  4. Select a verification method for to proceed. You will be asked to either text or call your mobile number, verify your alternate email (most likely your personal email), or through Authenticator app.

  5. Once verified, type in your new password then click Finish to save.

Note: If you don’t see this link, set up self-service password reset first to try to reset your password.
